The House of Representatives member representing Mushin Constituency II, Bolaji Ayinla Yussuf, has donated medical equipment worth millions of naira to Igbo-Owu Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Mushin.

The House of Representatives member representing Mushin Constituency II, Bolaji Ayinla Yussuf, has donated medical equipment worth millions of naira to Igbo-Owu Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Mushin.

The equipment was received by the chairman of Mushin Local Government Area, Emmanuel Bamigboye, for the use of the public.

According to Yussuf, the council alone could not fund PHCs, hence the responsibility of every well-meaning citizen to support the government in providing quality healthcare delivery to the people.

He said: “Mushin is a thickly populated area. I have lived in this community all my life. I know the needs of the people and I know how expensive it is to get quality healthcare. I am equally aware of the ravaging effects of COVID-19, but it is important our people are in good health, especially pregnant women.

“The provision of incubators, cancer screening machines and oxygen, among others, is part of my little personal efforts to enhance the health needs of the populace,” he said while urging the medical personnel to put the equipment to good use.

The lawmaker further said as part of efforts to alleviate the suffering of his constituents, he recently sponsored the training of over 1,000 people in collaboration with SMEDAN.

“After the training, we distributed cash and equipment to the beneficiaries to start up their businesses, which included fashion designing, make-up arts, GSM repairing, graphic arts, cosmetologists, and beauty therapy.
