House of Representatives has ordered an immediate probe of cryptocurrency, blockchain, digital asset transactions, online peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace, utility sharing-based platforms and their practices in Nigeria.

The decision followed adoption of a motion by Isiaka Ibrahim (APC: Ogun) at plenary, presided over by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu. The House, eventually, directed its Committee on National Security and Intelligence to investigate and report back for further deliberations.
