Reps summon perm sec, director, contractor over road projects
The House of Representatives Committee on Works yesterday summoned the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Housing, the Director (Highways) Construction as well as Julius Berger Plc to brief it on the ongoing Abuja-Kaduna and Zaria-Kano road projects.
The panel also ordered the construction firm to immediately open the completed section of the Abuja-Kaduna expressway to ease vehicular movement.
The summonses were contained in a statement issued by the committee chairman, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, in Abuja.
The panel said the development was informed by the barrage of complaints from Nigerians plying the corridor.
