Business activities in Calabar, Cross River State are almost paralysed a week after the closure of its borders.

Business activities in Calabar, Cross River State are almost paralysed a week after the closure of its borders.

Though no total lockdown in the state, people are still going about their daily affairs at low key. Several organisations have shut down and their workers sent on forced leave.
 
Most businesses like hotels have either shut down or maintained skeletal services. 
 
Also, prices of some goods like a bag of sachet water sold for N100 is now N150.  

Meanwhile, a philanthropist and Chairman of Ben Akak Foundation, Mr. Ben Akak, yesterday donated N1m and medical materials worth millions of naira to the Cross River State government to support the fight against the virus. University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), Nigerian Navy and some markets benefitted from the support.
