Resumption of international flights: Sanwo-Olu urges obedience to COVID-19 safety protocols

As international flights resume at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport today, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has implored passengers to obey instructions given by officials of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), stressing that it was key to their safety.

The governor stated this yesterday after taking a tour of the airport to keep tab on the preparedness of the airport to receive international flights.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Amzat, said that after moving round the airport, it was obvious that FAAN was ready to receive passengers, but noted that passengers must, on their part, obey instructions.

He commended the agency for the facilities it provided ahead of the re-opening of the airport.

The Managing Director of FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu, said the agency’s officials had been trained on the necessary instructions to be issued to passengers to ensure their safety, adding that the officials were fully equipped to carry out their tasks.

Yadadu added that the staff had been instructed to stand their ground while implementing the safety rules even in the face of intimidation.
