Rivers community lauds NAOC for road project, drainages

The joy of the people of Mgbede community in Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Council of Rivers State has known no bounds since the Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) and its joint venture partners completed and commissioned a 1km asphalt road and drainage for the people.

The joy of the people of Mgbede community in Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Council of Rivers State has known no bounds since the Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) and its joint venture partners completed and commissioned a 1km asphalt road and drainage for the people.

The road project was funded and constructed by NAOC, operators of the NNPC/NAOC/OANDO Joint Venture.The Caretaker Committee Chairman of ONELGA, Barr. Osi Olisa, while commissioning the project, commended NAOC and its Joint Venture partners for the providing the project in Mgbede community.

The ONELGA Council boss said the successful completion of the road project was to the glory of God and for the use of the people of the community.Speaking on behalf of the Joint Ventures, the Managing Director of NAOC, Mr. Massimo Insulla, said, the firm and its partners deemed it fit that the road project would improve the living standards of Mgbede people and also ease internal mobility within the community.

Represented by the Stakeholders Management and Community Development Division Manager, Mr. Dennis Masi, Insulla, reiterated the Company’s commitment in empowering and providing access to social infrastructure in its areas of operation, noting that this will continue to be the cardinal community relations policy of the company.

Earlier, the Mgbede Community Secretary, Mr. Jake Isinka, commended NAOC and its Joint Venture Partners for the improved and robust relationship that is existing between the community and the company.

Isinka further noted that the cordial relationship has made it possible for the community to benefit from various projects initiated and executed by the company such as water scheme, electrification, town hall, as well as the various roads projects completed and commissioned within the community.

The ceremony witnessed a large turnout of elated Mgbede people and the project completion certificate was presented by the Stakeholder Management and Community Development Division Manager, Mr. Dennis Masi to the Paramount Ruler of Mgbede, His Royal Highness, Eze. C. Ogor.

Present at the occasion were Mr. Orok Rosta, Community Relations Officer, Oando Oil Limited, Mrs. Naina Osima, Infrastructure Estate Maintenance and Engineering Manager NAOC and Mr. Gift Ogonwa, Community Development Committee Chairman, Mgbede community amongst the host of dignitaries.
