Rotary Club commits N2.5m to education project

The Rotary Club of Isolo, as part of its humanitarian activities, has supported the District Endowment Welfare Education Fund (DEWEF) of District 9110 with N2.5 million

The Rotary Club of Isolo, as part of its humanitarian activities, has supported the District Endowment Welfare Education Fund (DEWEF) of District 9110 with N2.5 million and donation of over $70,000 to Rotary Foundation, this was disclosed during the District Governor, Bola Oyebade’s visit to the club.

According to the president of the club, David Taiwo, some other projects carried out included empowerment of 40 widows in Isolo community with N20,000 each, free prostate cancer screening for 100 men, free eye tests with drugs and gift of over 100 glasses, donations of hairdressing equipment, sewing machines, a freezer for a physically-challenged person, clutches and face masks to Isolo residents.

The District Governor scored the club best among the 17 clubs he has visited so far and described its performance as exceptional, having successfully met all that was expected despite the COVID-19 pandemic. He urged other Rotary clubs to emulate Isola just as he implored the club to increase its membership from 49 to 100.
