Rotary donates books, stationeries to schools
As part of an effort aimed at improving the nation’s education sector, the Rotary Club of Lagos Central recently donated pens, bags and pencils to Primary five and six pupils of Christ Church Cathedral School, Broad Street, Lagos.
Speaking during the donation, President, Rotary Club of Lagos Central, Barr. Rotimi Okafor, stated that September is celebrated internationally as World Literacy month, hence the essence of organising the programme.
He added that the theme of the programme tagged Kokoka, was taken from the popular nursery rhythm that advises all that if you read your books, you will succeed in life.
Expressing appreciation, management and staff of Christ Church Cathedral School Broad Street Lagos, commended the initiative of the club and urged them not to rest on their oars.
In previous years, Rotary Club of Lagos Central has made donations of school desks and chairs to Dolphin Senior Secondary School, Eko Akete Senior Secondary School and Elagbata Senior High School, Lagos School.
