The operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested six suspected members of a syndicate, who specialised in vandalising and stealing light-up cable wire.

The suspects were also responsible for the stealing of street-lamps and streetlight poles installed by the Ambode-led administration to illuminate the state.

The suspects: Tunde Alaba, Saheed Ismail, Deji Afolorunso, Sunday Obasanmi, Jelili Abodunrin, and Taofeek Oyedele, were apprehended at about 2:30a.m., under the bridge at CMS after destroying the streetlights powering CMS under-bridge and its environs.

The patrol team mobilised more officers, arrested the suspects and took them to RRS Headquarters, Alausa.

The suspects, allegedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.about four years.

Ambode, while reacting to the arrest , urged the police to always check out Light – Up Lagos Project because of pending cases of vandalisation and theft of armoured cable powering the street lights across the state.
