Former Commissioner for Rural and Community Development in Kano State, Abbas Sani Abbas, has dumped the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abbas joined the APC following a cabinet shakeup by Governor Kabir Yusuf which saw him and five other commissioners lose their position.

He was received by top APC leaders, including the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, in Kano.

In a Facebook post, Jibrin praised Abbas for his dedication to grassroots mobilisation and expressed optimism about his contributions to the APC.

“Joined by the Chairman of our party in Kano State, Prince Abdullahi Abbas (Ɗan Sarki, Jikan Sarki), and other party leaders, we proudly embraced Hon. Abbas, a dedicated grassroots mobiliser to our party. We assured him of our support as we work together to build a better future for the people of Kano State and, indeed, all Nigerians,” Jibrin added.
