Sanwo-Olu assures residents of better secured Lagos State
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured residents of the state of better security this year, as measures had been put in place to intensify security efforts.
Sanwo-Olu, alongside commanders of security formations and top government functionaries in the state, made this known while briefing newsmen after the state security meeting in the state yesterday.
He said security agencies had been placed on the alert in preparation for the new deal.
The governor added that new strategies would be adopted to further improve safety of lives and property.
He said all the security agencies had briefed him about their strategies to help in ensuring a safe and secure state.
On his part, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Hakeem Odumosu, disclosed that a new security strategy would be unveiled soon to tackle the menace of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders, permanently.
He nonetheless said the new plan to take Okada riders off the road would come with human face.
According to him, though criminality has reduced dramatically in the state, security operatives will not relent but continue to device new means to tackle insecurity.
