Security: Miyetti Allah to embark on campaign, weed out bad eggs in Enugu
Northern Leaders, Livestock and Perishable Goods Market Traders and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Enugu State, yesterday, rose from a meeting and resolved to shut their livestock and perishable goods markets in the state.
They said their decision was to enable them embark on “sensitisation tour of all livestock and perishable good markets and every Fulani settlement in Enugu State on August 14 and August 15, 2019”.
They said: “During the sensitisation exercise, all livestock and perishable goods markets will be closed, either in cattle markets, Fulani settlements, or wherever they exist throughout Enugu State. “We have constituted a 14-man committee for the programme to identify all our members and weed out infiltrators…”
The Northerners, led by the Southeast Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki and the Sarkin Hausawa, Enugu State, Alhaji Abukakar Yusuf Sambo, regretted the unfortunate incident that led to the death of Rev. Fr. Paul Offu of St. James The Greater Parish, Ugbawka in Nkanu East Local Council.
