No fewer than 50 policemen and other security operatives have been deployed to Rumuekini and Rumosi communities after a truck driver attacked and killed resident, Mr. David Wagbara.

The attacked occurred on Friday night at Rumosi junction in Obio/Akpor Local Council of the State.

The Guardian learnt that trouble started when the victim asked the tanker driver, who parked in front of his office along Choba- University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) axis of the East West Road, to re-park as he had blocked his office entrance.

The directive infuriated the truck driver. The suspect and his conductor allegedly stabbed the shop owner to death with a dagger.

The victim was rushed to the Emergency Care Unit the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, (UPTH), where he was confirmed dead.

Wagbara’s death caused anger and pandemonium in the area, as the indigenes trooped out for reprisal attack. They were stopped by security men.

The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, DSP. Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the development, said the security personnel were deployed to the area to maintain peace.
