The Police in Kaduna State and other security agencies have foiled a kidnap attempt by gunmen on the paramount ruler of Ninzo Chiefdom in Sanga Local Council of Kaduna State, Alhaji Umar Musa.
It was gathered that heavily armed gunmen stormed the palace of the traditional ruler on Wednesday at about 8:00p.m., but the police and other security agencies on ground engaged them in a gun duel.
The bandits were said to have fled to the forest due to the superior firepower of the security agencies. Confirming the incident, spokesperson for Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, however, explained that the whereabouts of the chief’s wife was still unknown.
According to him, security operatives have since been deployed to the forests around Sanga in search of the wife.
Besides, the Ninzo Development Association (NDA), in a statement signed by its President and Secretary, Prof. Moses Audi and Silas Anche, respectively, condemned the planned abduction of the traditional ruler which led to the disappearance of his wife.
The statement, however, called for calm to allow the government to live up to its responsibility. Alhaji Musa ascended the throne peacefully after the demise of the late paramount ruler, Alhaji Ibrahim Yakubu the (UCHU NINZO 14th.)
