Seminarian dies as bandits set Catholic church on fire in Kaduna

Suspected bandits have burnt down the parish house of Saint Raphael’s Catholic Church in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing a seminarian, Stephen Danlami, in the process.
It was gathered that the bandits, who came in large numbers, stormed the parish located at Fadan Kamantan, Kafanchan Diocese, on Thursday night.
The bandits then set the building ablaze alongside a vehicle parked in the premises.
It was learnt that the late Seminarian died from the smoke he inhaled while trying to escape from the fire.
Other priests inside the parish house were said to have escaped during the attack.
Meanwhile, there has been no comment yet from the Police Command in Kaduna concerning the incident.
Also, the Catholic Church in the state has yet to make any statement following the attack on the church and the death of the Seminarian.
