As part of measures to ensure that the less privileged in society don’t starve of food and gifts this Christmas, The Kingdom Friends of the Needy at its yearly Christmas convention, distributed food items and cash to six orphanage homes and 208 widows.

The orphanage homes include Citadel of Grace Mission Int.l Orphanage Home, His Grace Orphanage Home, Bethlehem Orphanage Home, Precious Pearl Orphanage Home, Charitas Orphanage Home, and Hope of Foundation Orphanage Home.

The programme, which is also a platform for thanksgiving and praise to God, witnessed hundreds of widows and orphans, who were fed to their satisfaction.

According to the coordinator, Mrs. Modupe Ajayi, the initiative, which started 14 years ago, is aimed at meeting not just the material needs of the less privileged, but also minister to their spiritual needs as well as release their destinies.

“We are trying to transform them to the image of Christ, renew their minds to conform with the pattern of the word of God and not the world, and also give them courage,” she said.

Beneficiaries of the initiative eulogised the foundation, saying it was a kind gesture on their part. Commending the act, on behalf of the orphanage homes, one of the social workers at Citadel of Grace Mission Int.l Orphanage home, Mrs. Dorcas Adenike Olalekan, said: “It is a much needed gesture at this trying times and I pray that God will bless them more abundantly.”
