Indications emerged at the weekend that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, would lead the Abia State 2023 APGA governorship campaign to ensure victory for the candidate, Prof. Gregory Ibe.

Soludo, who spoke when Ibe led Abia APGA delegation to the Government House, Awka, said that his decision to feature visibly in the Abia guber election campaign is informed by the need for Abia to join Anambra as one of the states to be governed by APGA.

According to a statement by Ibe’s Media Associates (ProGIMA), Soludo justified the clamour and agitation for restructuring of Nigeria, as one major solution to addressing its defects and imbalances.

He also stated that APGA, being the “only political party in Nigeria that enshrined the concept of restructuring in it’s constitution, remains the best platform to champion the much needed transformation of the entire nation.”

The Anambra governor, therefore, congratulated members of the Abia APGA for electing Ibe as its governorship candidate for the 2023 general elections describing Ibe as a “world class technocrat and intellectual entrepreneur of repute that Abians need to transform the state for the better.”

Soludo consequently enjoined all members of APGA in Abia, especially those who contested for the position of governor with Ibe during the primary election, to join forces with him to secure victory for the party during the general elections and promise to bring his years of field experience to bear on the campaign trail.
