Soun will get state burial, Makinde assures

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assured that the late Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, will get a state burial.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assured that the late Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, will get a state burial.

Makinde announced this when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late monarch, who passed December 12, 2021.

The governor, while addressing the family, chiefs and Ogbomoso community at the palace, yesterday, explained that the visit was to officially condole with the family and citizens of Ogbomosoland over the demise of the monarch, and his daughter, Prof. Taibat Danmale, who passed on Sunday.

He emphasised that the late monarch was a forthright and very blunt person, who spoke truth to power.
