Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi are among dignitaries billed to speak at the maiden edition of the Ripples Nigeria Dialogue.

The Dialogue, is put together by the Ripples Centre for Data and Investigative Journalism, (RCDIJ) in partnership with Ripples Nigeria, a multi-media online news platform mainly focused on Nigeria’s political and business environments, and their leaders.

Other confirmed speakers at the event scheduled for The Wheatbaker, Ikoyi on Thursday, March 15, 2018 by 10:00 a.m., are Professor Pat Utomi and Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi of the Transition Monitoring Group.

While Professor Soyinka will deliver the guest lecture with theme ‘Rebuilding Trust in a divided Nigeria’, Utomi, Obi and Akiyode-Afolabi will examine the topic in a panel session to be moderated by Dr. Reuben Abati, a former media aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan.

RCDIJ is a non-profit organisation supporting quality multimedia-based projects in investigative and data journalism, capacity building, public advocacy and other social projects in vital areas of public interest in Nigeria.

The Centre believes that journalism plays a vital role as a watchdog of society, and is thus committed to holding powerful interests in the public and private sectors to account, using thorough investigations and strategic advocacy to great effect.

The Dialogue is expected to deepen the conversation around the troubled Nigerian project and, in anticipation of a robust audience engagement, proffer feasible solutions and road map to a more prosperous and united country.
