Stakeholders in the health sector have reiterated the importance of partnership, financial support, as well as advocacy among public and private organisations in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Stakeholders in the health sector have reiterated the importance of partnership, financial support, as well as advocacy among public and private organisations in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

They made the call at the 2017 Healthcare Providers Association of Nigeria (HCPAN) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Scientific Conference in Lagos.

Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris said government cannot implement the NHIS programme without the support of service providers, reason there must be understanding between the association and government to achieve the desired goal.

Chairman HCPAN, Lagos State Chapter, Dr. Ademola Aina said the AGM generated ideas that would be useful at this crucial stage when government at all levels should desire to achieve Universal Health Scheme Coverage for its teeming population.
