A coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) yesterday urged the Federal Government to immediately constitute the board of the National Human Rights Commission NHRC for effective human rights monitoring and protection.

The coalition, under the auspices of Nigerian Human Rights CSOs on Universal Periodic Review (UPR), noted that the non-composition had impacted negatively on past gains.

Coordinator of the coalition, Jude Ohanele of the Development Dynamic, noted that the situation had left the bulk of the job at the door step of the executive secretary, who could barely do much as a civil servant.
