Stakeholders seek youths’ involvement in security architecture

Nigeria Youth Futures Fund Will Equip a New Cadre of Youth Leaders in the Region

Coalition of Nigerian Youths on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) says it is collaborating with relevant agencies and the private sector towards increasing young people’s involvement in security.

The Director-General, Ambassador Ade Mario, made the disclosure at the Lagos security summit on the role of citizens in security and community safety.

Speaking, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Okoro Eweka, submitted that youths should play active role in security through active intelligence gathering.

Also, the National Commandant of Peace Corps, Prof. Dickson Akoh, called on the young Nigerians to channel their energies toward patriotic service to the nation.

Retired chairman and founder of Nigerian Network of Non-Governmental Organisations, Yemisi Ransome-Kuti, charged youths to expend their energies on prevention of crimes.

Equally, General Manager, De Miller Farms, Yinka Omogoroye, noted that security “is everyone’s business.”
