Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, yesterday, commissioned the Bachure Road in Yola, Adamawa State, which Governor Ahmadu Fintiri named after Air Commodore Jonah Jang (rtd.).

Jang was military administrator of the defunct Gongola State from August 1986 to December 1987 and senator representing Plateau South on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While commissioning the road, Tambuwal commended Fintiri for embarking on huge people-oriented projects that could change the living standard of Adamawa residents.

He said that naming the road after Jang was proof that Fintiri recognised the good work of the past leaders.

Tambuwal, who said he did his national youth service in Demsa Local Council of Adamawa in 1992, pointed out that Fintiri planted his name in people’s hearts when he acted as governor of the state for three months.

In his remarks, Fintiri described the urban renewal scheme as one of the 11-point agenda of his administration, assuring Adamawa residents that his administration would continue to provide services that their children would benefit from.

Fintiri maintained that under his government, nobody or area would be left out.
