The Nigerian Army has said Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters have been fleeing in droves to North and Central Africa following its offensives in the Lake Chad region.

The military insisted that credible reports from very reliable sources had confirmed the exodus of the terrorists to Sudan and the Central African Republic on account of the “successful artillery and aerial bombardments of their settlements and as the heat of the onslaught is becoming unbearable.”

Acting Director, Army Public Relation, Colonel Sagir Musa, in a statement confirmed that the mass movement was necessitated by the sustained attacks that led to the death of many insurgents and destruction of their weapons.
