Three die,12 injured in Delta road crash

Three people were reportedly killed, while 12 others sustained injuries in an auto crash along the Ubulu-Okiti axis of the Benin-Asaba-Onitsha highway in Delta State.
 
The accident involved a white Toyota Hiace bus marked: KSH 688 ZF and a red truck with registration number UWN 368 XT.
 
The deceased victims include two males and one female,  while seven males and five females survived the crash with injuries.
 
The Guardian gathered that both vehicles were heading towards the same direction when the crash occurred at about 7:00a.m.
 
Delta State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Udeme Bassey Eshiet,  who confirmed the incident, yesterday, identified  night driving and speed violation as possible causes of the accident.
   
He said both commercial vehicles were said to be coming from Agbor and heading towards Asaba when the crash occurred.
 
He confirmed that 15 persons, nine males and six females, were involved in the accident, saying operatives of FRSC rescued the injured victims to the hospital at Issele-Uku.
 He said the remains of the deceased victims have been evacuated to the morgue, while his men in conjunction with Ogwashi Police had cleared the  road of obstructions.
