Three first-timers win National Assembly seats In Rivers

Three first-timers have won National Assembly seats in Rivers State, going by results announced at press time.

Two of the winners are members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while one is of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kelechi Nwogu, who won Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency 1, was a two-term member of Rivers State House of Assembly.  He is perceived by many as Governor Nyesom Wike’s loyalist.  During his time at the state house, he was outspoken and attracted projects to his constituency. 

Victor Obuzor, who won Ahoada West/ Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency, is said to be a grassroots person and loved by his people. 
 
The Okrika/Ogu/Bolo Federal Constituency seat was clinched by the  APC candiidate, Allison Anderson, while the Rivers East Senatorial District seat was clinched by Allwell Onyesoh of PDP. 

Other winners, including Barry Mpigi, Rivers South East (PDP), Kingsley Chinda of Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency,  are old members.
