The Field Monitoring and Enforcement Officer of the Ogun State Signage and Advertisements Agency (OGSAA), Mr. Bolaji Banjoko and other Advertisements Agency staff were attacked yesterday, allegedly by political thugs loyal to the Ogun State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.

They were attacked while on official duty in Abeokuta along the Ibrahim Babangida Boulevard.

This was contained in a statement signed by OGSAA General Manager, Mr. Akin Bandele and made available to The Guardian.

According to the statement, the ADC had deployed campaign materials along the Boulevard and other locations within Abeokuta without permit or payment to OGSAA.

The officials were enforcing the removal of the illegal boards when they were attacked by band of thugs in the presence of the ADC candidate, the statement alleged.

Bandele said OGSAA is empowered by the Ogun State Signage and Advertising Agency Law of 2008 to monitor and enforce regulations concerning outdoor advertisements, including political campaigns.
