Tight security as Buhari, others visit Edo
There is a high presence of security agencies in Benin City, as President Muhammadu Buhari, his Deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) visit the state today.
The visit is in connection with the grand finale of the party’s governorship campaign.
Also expected are governors and other national leaders of the party.
The APC state’s chairman, Anselm Ojezua said: “Once the people know that the president is visiting the state, they would be so excited to receive him. That would crown our efforts of moving round the entire state in the past few weeks.”
Ojesua explained that the chairman of the APC’s national campaign council, Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State and members of his team were already in Benin to ensure a smooth rally.
Meanwhile, the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, venue of the rally, has worn a new look ahead of the president’s visit.
