The youth leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic Sect in Africa, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Umar, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to issue an Executive Order freeing the children facing treasonable charges over bad governance and hardship in the country’s High Court.

He further called for adequate compensation for the minors.

Umar, who is also the chairman of Aftech Industry Limited, a private company, said, “I was invited to Arewa House today to wake our youths, especially those from the North, because most of the youths are sleeping.”

According to him, the interaction at Arewa House was robust due to the participation of Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas and his team, who told the youths to stop sleeping, wake up, and take over their inheritance.

He said, “Alhamdulillah, I believe with this call, the youths would wake up and do the needful. They should not fight over something that is of no importance to their lives or to the citizens of Nigeria.

“Nigeria is facing a lot of issues: security, unemployment, and more. But our youths are sitting as if all is well when all is not well.

“I hope with this type of gathering that took place at Arewa House, the country would change for the better, and the youths would come out and say they are ready to be the leaders of today.

“It’s been long we’ve been hearing of ‘leaders of tomorrow’ when tomorrow is not coming. So it’s better we wake up and ask our grandfathers who are still in the system to go and rest so that we can take over. We thank Almighty Allah that the gathering went well, and may Allah take everyone back to his destination safely.”

Meanwhile, commenting on the incarceration of children by the Federal Government for alleged treasonable felony during the end bad governance and economic hardship in the country, Sheikh Umar said that detaining minors who could not differentiate their left from their right was a bad signal to the world.

“We are calling on Mr. President, as a matter of urgency, to give an Executive Order for those children to be released and compensated. They were detained for 90 days for doing nothing. I hope President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would heed this call and ensure that he gives this order for the children to be released and compensated,” he said.
