Demola Olarewaju, an aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said President Bola Tinubu had a clearer path to victory in the 2023 presidential election.
Olarewaju said this while criticising the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who aligned with Tinubu before the election.
According to Atiku’s aide, Wike’s earlier alignment with former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was not genuine but a means to an end.
He shared on X, “This man was heavily romancing Obi during the election and people were hailing him, not knowing he had agbado in his heart of hearts.
“He used the Obi wave to legitimise his G5 anti-party activities, then aligned himself with Tinubu who had a clearer path to victory.”
He further stated that Nigerians are the ultimate losers in the alliance between Tinubu and Wike.
“Tinubu picking Wike as Minister of FCT was never about delivering results for the people of Abuja – it was simply a raw power transaction, and Nigerians are the ultimate loser.
“The man is negotiating these things all away for 2027, directly to the detriment of Nigerians,” Atiku’s aide said.
