The Senator representing Kwara Central, Dr. Yahaya Oloriegbe, yesterday, gave the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a clean bill of health to run for the polls.

Oloriegbe, while fielding reporters’ questions during a tripartite event of his public declaration of support for Tinubu, empowerment of some members of his constituency and thank you message to his people, said the two criteria for a healthy life are embedded in the APC candidate.

According to Oloriegbe, a former consultant with World Health Organisation (WHO), “two things make up the health of every living thing and these are physical and mental health. Tinubu has both intact by virtue of his age. He is mentally sound and fit physically. He told the whole world that he had a problem with one of his knees and that had been surgically corrected. So, he is fit for the race.”

Already, under the coinage of “Oloriegbe for Asiwaju”, the senator said he had entrenched the campaign slogan in all the 52 wards of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

He, therefore, promised to use his God’s given resources and talents to ensure that Tinubu emerged the winner in his senatorial district.

The lawmaker reminisced on how the APC candidate had 15 years ago covertly expressed his interest in the struggle to free the people of the state from the jugular of political dominance of a dynasty, adding that it is paying back time for the candidate in Kwara.

Although the senator had failed in his bid to return to the Senate, having lost his party primary to Malam Soliu Mustapha, he went ahead to distribute 19 different items worth over N500 million to 620 members of his constituency.

These include 10 motor cars, 20 tricycles, 30 motorcycles, 20 deep freezers, 30 grinding machines, 20 hairdressing machines, poultry equipment, vulcanising equipment, bricklaying tools, automobile tools for technicians, cobbler tools and so on.

He added: “The equipment are symbols of good governance. They are for the promotion of ‘Otoge’s’ ideals aimed at enlightening the people about good governance. Our movement, coded ‘DIYO’, will remain in APC because APC is not a party in Kwara but it is about a movement. We are the original visioner of the movement and nothing shall separate us from the vision.”

Oloriegbe, while speaking on his achievements in office as a senator, mentioned the facilitation of Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Budo Egba in Asa Local Council of Kwara State as the pivot of his breakthrough at the Red Chamber.

He said effective from January 2023, the hospital would commence prompt recruitment of over 500 workers with the North Central Zone serving as the catchment zone.
