
President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, unveiled a four-year strategic plan at transforming the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) operations and maximising impact on good causes across the federation.
This, the President said, is designed to reposition the body for greater efficiency.
The event, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, marked a significant milestone in NLTF’s history.
Represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, the President expressed confidence in the strategic document, which he noted, had the potential to enhance the Federal Government’s outreach to marginalised communities.
He commended the Executive Secretary, Tosin Adeyanju, for his leadership, adding that he looks forward to seeing more prosperous results.
In his keynote address, Adeyanju applauded the President for his effort to introduce Revenue Assurance Platform (RAP), which he observed, would assist the lottery industry to achieve its mandate.
Senator Victor Umeh, speaking on behalf of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, also applauded the Executive Secretary for outstanding achievements within a few months of appointment.
He expressed confidence in the strategic plan, noting its potential to achieve greater heights.
Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Inter-governmental Affairs and Special Duties, Canice Moore, commended the agency’s new leadership and pledged the support of the legislative chamber.
Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo, and the Permanent Secretary, Dr Maryam Keshinro, highlighted the strategic plan’s focus on providing good causes nationwide.
Jisalo assured that Nigerians would benefit from the policy, which prioritises meaningful interventions.
