There was anxiety yesterday in Rivers State following the killing of two brothers from Rumuokparali Community in Obio/Akpor Local Council, who were beheaded.

The two victims, Ifeanyi and Emeka Wobo, were found dead and their heads decapitated around Elekahia Housing Estate in the same local council.

The Guardian gathered that the victims had taken a taxi out of Rumuokparali on Monday and did not return. It was on Tuesday morning that their decapitated bodies were discovered by the police.

The ugly incident has thrown the community into pandemonium as residents have begun to flee the area while others are in pain. The two victims were of the same father, the late Chief Oliver Wobo, but different mothers.

Grieved by the development, youths of the area have call on the police to dig out the killers of the siblings and ensure they face the wrath of the law.

One of the youth leaders in the community, Mr. Pamoses Omah, told journalists that the news of the incident caused wailing in the community, adding that their bodies have been deposited at the mortuary.

He disclosed that the police got Ifeanyi’s wallet and found his identity card from where they traced his next-of-kin to the company where he acquired pipeline-welding skill.

“Nobody knows what happened, but their bodies were found around Elekahia Housing Estate. They left home on Monday evening but did not return. Ifeanyi is a pipeline welder. His mother is still unconscious since the news broke on Tuesday evening,” he added.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident but assured that the police were working to unravel the killers and bring them to book.

“Yes, we are aware and efforts are on to unravel the circumstances that led to their death.”
