The management of the University of Jos has finally resolved its protracted dispute with Prof. Benedicta Daudu of its Faculty of Law.

The dispute with Prof. Daudu is traceable to 2016 when there was an allegation of examination misconduct against then Dr. (now Professor) Daudu.

Based on that allegation, she was suspended from her employment with the university and requested to appear before a Council/Senate Disciplinary Committee, a development, which she challenged in court.

The Registrar of the institution, Chief Monday M. Danjem, in a statement said: “When it came to light upon further investigation by the university that the allegations against Daudu were spurious, baseless and unfounded, the institution reached out to her for settlement out of court and she accepted the offer to amicably resolve the dispute.  The terms of settlement between the university and Prof. Daudu have been filed in court.

“The university regrets all the embarrassment caused her and disclosed its willingness to pay Prof. Daudu all her outstanding emoluments and entitlements having cleared and exonerated her.”
