Unilorin alumni praise Tinubu for appointing four members to top roles

The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) Alumni Association has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing four of its distinguished members to prominent positions in the country.

In a press statement jointly signed by the National President, Dr. Stephen Olawale Fasakin, and the National Publicity Secretary, Yeye Bolanle Olatunde, the association expressed deep appreciation for the recognition given to its members.

According to the statement, the appointees include Babs Omotowa, former Managing Director of the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), who has been appointed to the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC); and Dr. Kayode Opeifa, former Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, now appointed as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).

Also on the list is Kemi Nanna Nandap, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), whose tenure has been extended until December 2026; and Roland Ewubare, who was recently appointed as Group Chief Operating Officer of the NNPC.

“We are indeed very grateful to Mr. President for counting our alumni worthy of appointments into such worthy and key positions.

“While we wish the new appointees a successful tenure of office, we assure Mr. President of our continuous, unflinching support for his administration,” the association added.
