Independent researcher, Ayobami Gabriel Olanrewaju has developed a cutting-edge investment algorithm powered by artificial intelligence, promising smarter and safer ways to manage portfolios in today’s volatile markets.
In a statement made available to reporters, Olanrewaju said unlike traditional methods that rebalance investments at set intervals, his system uses reinforcement learning, an AI technique that learns from real-time data.
It adjusts holdings automatically, limits risk exposure and accounts for transaction costs without requiring human input.
According to the statement, in tests using data from the S&P 500, the model outperformed standard strategies by delivering better risk-adjusted returns.
“When prices dropped sharply, the system shifted money toward lower volatility assets; when trends turned positive, it captured gains more quickly—without any human intervention,” the statement read.
The AI-powered algorithm, co-developed with others in a recent paper published in the Journal of Research in Finance and Management, has been tested across stocks, bonds, and commodities.
Its modular design allows fund managers to integrate it into existing trading platforms with ease.
The statement added, “Looking ahead, Ayobami plans to make the software run faster—optimising it to make decisions in less than a second—and to develop user-friendly dashboards that turn complex data into clear recommendations for portfolio teams.
“The goal is to deliver a fully integrated solution that combines adaptive risk controls, automated compliance checks and enterprise-level reliability.
“As global markets become more turbulent, this next-generation approach offers a practical blueprint for intelligent trading systems—one that promises to help investors navigate uncertainty with real-time, data-driven confidence.”
