Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has advised celebrities and entertainers to use their individual talents and platforms to promote sustainable peace, unity, and progress of the state and the country at large.

He noted that, “just as security is a collective responsibility, sustainable peace and unity are essential for our overall development and well-being.

Aboki, made the call when a group of entertainers in the state on the aegis of All Imo Great Entertainers, paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Owerri on Wednesday,

He noted that following the concerted efforts made by both the state government and security agencies in the state to address the prevailing security issues, peace and security have gradually been restored in the state.

He further urged investors and entertainers to explore the socio-economic opportunities in the state to advance the general well-being of the citizens, saying, “Imo, as before, remains a hospitable and socio-economic driven state for investors, tourists and entertainers to explore.”

He said, “You can see that through our collective efforts, we are winning the war against insecurity in Imo State. Today, peace and stability have been restored and the socio-economic lives of the people thriving as before.

“As ambassadors of Imo State and Nigeria, I call on you to continue to advocate peace and stability in our land. I urge you to use your platforms to educate our people, especially the youths on the need to stay off crime and criminality.

“I also want to ask you to continue to support our resolve to make Imo crime-free. We need every hand on deck towards achieving a safe and peaceful Imo. The governor or the police cannot do it alone. We all need security to prosper as a people and a nation.”

Earlier, speaking on behalf of the group, Prince Nonso Aniche and Ifeanyi Uzomba (Iroh Star) said the visit was primarily to express their appreciation to the Imo Police boss for his laudable achievements in the restoration of peace and combating of violent crimes in the State.

They also used the opportunity to inform the Commissioner of their forthcoming entertainment concert with the theme: “Bring Back Home Spirit,” billed to be held in Owerri on Sunday, 1st December.

“We want to use the concert to tell Imo citizens living outside the state and the world in general that peace has been restored in Imo. We will also at the event present to you a prestigious award in recognition of your fervent commitment to guarantee adequate security in our state. Thank you sir.” Aniche said.
