Villagers invade bush in search of killers of Delta boy
Youths from Orhunwhorhun Community in Udu Local Council of Delta State have invaded the bush in search of gunmen, who allegedly shot dead a boy and injured another last Saturday.
The Guardian learnt that the gunmen invaded the community late on Saturday evening and shot sporadically into the air to scare those who wanted to challenge them and left the community.
It was further learnt that police officers attached to Ovwian/Aladja Division promptly evacuated the remains of the deceased, while they were ordered to hunt for the fleeing hoodlums.
Spokesperson for the state Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe, who confirmed the killing yesterday, said the injured had been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Edafe told The Guardian that the police were yet to establish the course of the killing, but expressed hope that the law will soon catch up with the perpetrators.
