To ensure Super Falcons’ Coach, Randy Waldrum, concentrates fully on preparation for the forthcoming FIFA Women World Cup scheduled to hold in Australia and New Zealand next month, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has settled the coach’s seven-month salary arrears out of the 14 months he is owed.

According to a source at the NFF, the Super Falcons Coach was paid on Thursday, June 8. The source disclosed that Waldrum earns $10,000 monthly, but the salary shrinks to about $8000+ after tax.

The NFF recently admitted it is cash-strapped and yet to pay some of the outstanding wages of its coaches, including Waldrum.

The federation’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, told BBC Sport Africa that the NFF could not pay its workers and that aside from the coaches, players of the different national teams are also owed camp allowances and match bonuses.

The Guardian learnt that the Super Falcons would converge on Abuja, where they would train for three weeks before moving to Australia on July 2 for the World Cup.
