The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, yesterday condemned in strong terms the recent attack on Ancha village in Irigwe chiefdom of Bassa local council of Plateau State.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Puma, Wase commiserated with the government of Plateau State, the entire Irigwe community and the immediate families of those affected.

“The killings is barbaric and unfortunate especially at a time when the Irigwe and Fulani communities held a reconciliation meeting aimed at finding lasting solution to the crisis,” he said.

He called on the people of the state to support the security measures being put in place by Governor Simon Lalong in tackling the perennial crisis in the state.

While commending the security agencies for their prompt response to the crisis, the deputy speaker urged them to do all it takes to ensure that those involved in the dastardly act were arrested and promptly prosecuted.

He called for immediate justice delivery in all such dastardly acts as a means of preventing future occurrences.
