We are combing bushes for 18 passengers abducted on Sunday, says Delta CP

Delta State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ali has pledged to ensure that 18 passenger kidnapped on Sunday at the Evwreni axis of the East-West road are rescued unhurt.

Delta State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ali has pledged to ensure that 18 passenger kidnapped on Sunday at the Evwreni axis of the East-West road are rescued unhurt.
 
Ali, who spoke with The Guardian on telephone, noted that his men were still monitoring the scenario.
 
According to him, “As we speak now, my men are in the bush. We are monitoring them and we are tracking them. I can assure you they will be rescued unhurt.”
 


Gunmen had abducted 18 passengers, after killing the bus driver at the notorious axis of the East-West road in Ughelli North Local Council of Delta State.
  
It was learnt that the bus belonged to Sunny Eru Motors, and was waylaid near Patani , when the abductors emerged from the bush and began to shoot indiscriminately.
  
They later forced the bus to stop and marched all 18 passengers into the bush.
  
Five victims were said to have regained freedom on Monday morning, while the gang is still holding on to others.
