Urges residents to be hopeful of better times

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, said that despite all the challenges faced by his administration, he was able to match words with achievements, especially in the implementation of T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda and other things he promised Lagosians three years ago.

He said that his administration had matched words with achievements in governance in the past three years.

Sanwo-Olu stated this, yesterday, during the third-anniversary thanksgiving service of his administration with the theme, “O God our help in ages past,” held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.

The governor, who was represented by his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, said he was grateful for the mercies, protection, wisdom and understanding of God Almighty that assisted in the steering of his administration in the last three years.

He said the achievements were a result of the cooperation and support of all Lagosians, as well as the intercessory prayers by men and women of different denominations, just as he besieged all Lagosians to continue to rally around the government, especially as the 2023 general elections approach.

“Let me at this juncture express appreciation to all Lagosians for their support, cooperation and prayers in the past three years. We want more of your support as we approach the 2023 general elections, in which by the special grace of God and Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat would be participating as governorship and deputy governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another term of four years. By the grace of God, I assure all Lagosians that better times lie ahead,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Earlier in his sermon, Bishop Diocese of Badagry, Methodist Church Nigeria, Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Sunday Onadipe said that the achievements recorded by Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State confirmed that he had a very great notion and initiatives to make Lagos greater, adding that Sanwo-Olu is an epitome of good leadership.

Onadipe said that all the achievements were possible because the governor too acknowledged God as the prime mover of his administration.

The cleric urged the governor to continue to pray and extend his tentacle on the security of life and property, youth unrest and saving the future of children and speedy completion of the Lagos-Badagry Road.
