Why Nigeria is underdeveloped, by Boroffice

Deputy Senate Leader, Robert Boroffice, has said that the country has failed to develop because it pays lip service to science and technology through research.

He told The Guardian in Abuja yesterday that the budget for science and technology could not address the funding needed for result-oriented research.

“As long as you are giving allocation in envelop to science and technology, we are not likely to move forward. You talk of the gestation period, the capacity building and the materials you will use. You are not building blocks of flats or building roads where you measure based on standards,” he said.
