The Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, has said that the institution is partnering with the federal and Osun State governments in developing drugs that can palliate COVID-19 pandemic.

Ogunbodede, while speaking, yesterday, during the exhibition of 60 different arts works made by 60 internationally-recognised artistes, who are products of the university, said the school was yet to develop a vaccine for the deadly virus because it is capital intensive.

He said that efforts were ongoing for researchers from the university to develop vaccine for COVID-19.

The VC said that if funds were made available, the institution is capable of producing COVID-19 vaccines.
