Wife killer dies in Police custody

Confirming his death, the police command’s spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said the deceased never recovered from the attempt to commit suicide.

Jafaru Sougie, the man who allegedly murdered his wife, Rose, in Oshodi area of Lagos State is dead.

The 48-year-old man died yesterday morning at the Police Hospital, Ikeja, where he has been on admission since May 26, this year.

He was alleged to have drank some poisonous substances in an attempt to commit suicide after he allegedly slit his wife’s throat.

It was gathered that the man, whom the police had questioned his mental state, never recovered from the substance he allegedly drank.

Sougie, who allegedly killed his wife in the wee hours of May 26, was found vomiting in the bathroom of their room and parlour apartment at about 4.am by their son, Richmond.

Richmond, who ran into his parent’s room to inform his mother of her husband’s condition, was the one who found her body and then raised alarm.
