Without good governance, human trafficking will continue to flourish – Anglican Bishop
The Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma, has warned that unless politicians provide good governance for the people, human trafficking would continue to flourish.
Chukwuma, who spoke at lecture organised by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in Abuja, said poverty and insecurity in the country must be tackled to end the menace.
Our governance must improve. Politicians should improve the lives of the people. It is because people are frustrated, that is why they seek greener pasture and fall victims. But if the country is suitable and people are comfortable, nobody will see any need to engage in trafficking,” he said.
