The apex Igbo organisation in diaspora, World Igbo Congress (WIC) has instituted a merit scorecard to recognise Igbo leaders with exceptional leadership quality.

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Board of Directors, Prof. Ejiofor, who presented this year’s distinguished service award to Ochiagha Ndigbo, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, at the Congress convention in Houston, Texas.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Basil Onwukwe, WIC will continue to work with leaders with the catalyst to proffering “solution to our developmental problems.

“When a leader fails to do the needful, he leaves his people vulnerable. Sen. Abaribe has demonstrated courage in his services to our homeland.

The Congress also applauds the services of Mr. Allen Onyema, “the Owner of Air Peace who sent his Aeroplane to evacuate Nigerians from South Africa to escape being killed in the xenophobic attacks at no cost, it is of record that Igbos were the highest refugees, but nobody paid for his service, including the Nigeria government.“
