Yobe gov swears in Wali as substantive SSG
Forum lauds Tinubu over appointment of Isa as SSA
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has sworn in Baba Malam Wali, as the substantive Secretary to the State Government (SSG). According to the governor, Wali has exhibited administrative skills in the coordination and implementation of government policies and programmes in the state.
While swearing in the SSG, yesterday, in Damaturu, Buni disclosed: “Your wealth of experience in administrative skills has brought effective working synergy among the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).”
He, therefore, charged the SSG to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the prudent management of capital and human resources for service delivery to the people.
He added that efficiency in administration of both capital and human resources could save a lot of costs in executing people-oriented projects and programmes.
NORTHERN Nigeria Disability Forum (NNDF) has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing its member as his aide. Mohammed Isa, whom The Guardian learnt was a staunch member of the forum, was recently announced by the President as his Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters.
Elated by the development, the forum, led by its chairman, Yerima Ibrahim, yesterday, during a briefing in Jalingo, Taraba State, showered encomia on the President for deeming it necessary to carry Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) along.
Arguing that kudos must not only be given to the President for his political sagacity, but also for his efforts at ensuring that a bona fide member of the forum is brought on board.
The forum, which had been agitating for more appointments, said: “Though our dream was for the President to appoint one of us as minister, all the same, we are glad that one of our members had been appointed as SSA.
“it is our earnest belief that the President will tread extra legitimate miles to appoint more of our members in his administration.” National Organising Secretary of the Forum, Bulu Emo, believed that with more appointments, PWDs spread across the North and the country at large have a sense of belonging.
