Youth leader killed in Delta community land dispute
A youth leader of Ogriagbene Community in Bomadi Council of Delta State, at the weekend, was reportedly stabbed to death, while his son was wounded in a fight that ensued among family members over a disputed piece of land.
No fewer than three houses were set ablaze following the crisis between two family members.
The Guardian learnt that the youth leader, who is believed to be a younger brother of representative of Delta South Senatorial District in the Senate, James Manager, was allegedly stabbed in the chest.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at the state command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, could not explain the number of houses that were burnt or the number of persons arrested before the police intervened.
He, however, said the police had brought the situation under control, even as the investigation has been intensified.
The report revealed that the victim died on the way to the hospital in Bomadi town, which ignited the anger of the family youths that led to the burning of the assailant’s home.
