The National Executive Council of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), led by Emmanuel Amakiri, met with Akwa Ibom executive members, chapter and ward chairmen to strategise.

The meeting was held at the state secretariat of the party, along 4Lanes Uyo, the state capital.

Recall that the YPP, last Saturday, received Bassey Albert of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into its fold with over 200 persons from the PDP and other political parties in the state.

It was gathered that the meeting was to put machineries in place for the party’s governorship candidate to take over Akwa Ibom from the PDP in 2023 through the popularity of Bassey Albert.

In his remarks, the State Secretary of YPP, Amb. Kelvin Umoh, took an overview of the party since it came into the state in 2017 and concluded that YPP is the fastest growing political party in Nigeria and in Akwa Ibom.
